Your experiment at TUMmesa – from idea to project

We are eager to offer TUM scientists and their cooperation partners easy access to our phytotron facility. Once an initial concept of the planned research project is formulated, the next step is getting in contact with the TUMmesa team. We will assist you with any questions about the feasibility of your project, the technical capabilities of TUMmesa, or connecting with other research groups. It's worth noting that not all project designs require the technical capabilities available at TUMmesa – however, we assist you in finding the suitable facility for your project from the diverse portfolio of the PTC.

Your TUMmesa project application

After the initial contact and consultation with our team, it is necessary to submit an official application for the use of the TUMmesa phytotron facility. The application can be submitted to the scientific director of the facility and will be evaluated by the TUMmesa Steering Board, which also decides on the approval of your proposal. Applications can be submitted by June 15 of each year, and decisions are made by July 15 of each year for the following working year. A TUMmesa working year corresponds to the period from April to March.

You can find the corresponding application template with explanations here.

We look forward to supporting your research project and are available for any further questions.
